Bore Sights & Arbors

I don’t see the caliber Arbor I’m looking for in your Cross Reference Guide.  Do you have it available, or can you make one for me?
Sorry, we only have Arbors for the calibers listed in the Cross Reference Guide.  Custom Arbors are only available in large quantities.

Where can I find batteries for my Bore Sight?
The original batteries that were included with the Bore Sight are available from one of our online dealers at the following link:  Bore Sight Batteries

Symptom Solution
My Bore Sight doesn’t light, or is intermittent.
  • With the battery cap removed, you will see a little spring inside.  Use a bent paperclip or other tool to gently stretch the spring out.
  • Make sure you are using the correct model and number of batteries.
    • BS223, BS22320X, and BS17 use THREE LR41 Batteries
    • BS9MM uses THREE L626 Batteries
    • BS30CARBINE uses FOUR L626 Batteries
    • For some reason, Energizer and other LR41/L626 equivalents don’t work well.  You can purchase the original batteries from one of our online dealers HERE. 
The bolt on my rifle won’t close all the way with the Bore Sight in the chamber.
  • The bolt does not have to be closed for the Bore Sight to do its intended function.  As long as the Bore Sight fits snug in the chamber, does not wiggle, and the laser dot is coming out the barrel, you are good to go.
The slide on my pistol won’t close all the way with the Bore Sight in the chamber.
  • If your barrel does not tilt upwards with the slide back, then the slide does not have to be closed for the Bore Sight to do its intended function.  As long as the Bore Sight fits snug in the chamber, does not wiggle, and the laser dot is coming out the barrel, you are good to go.
  • If your barrel does tilt upwards with the slide back, our Bore Sight may not work for your particular pistol.  We have designed our Bore Sight to fit as many pistols as possible, but cannot guarantee fitment on every single pistol out there.

 

Red/Green Laser Sights

I’ve heard about counterfeit AimSHOT laser sights on the market.  How do I know if I have a genuine AimSHOT laser sight?
The easiest way to tell if you have a counterfeit or not is to look at the head of the laser sight with the lens cap off.  On a genuine AimSHOT laser sight, you will be able to clearly see the copper housing of the laser module inside, about 1cm in diameter.

Can I use rechargeable batteries in my laser sight?
Rechargeable batteries are not recommended since they have a higher voltage when fully charged.  Also, due to the poor quality of some rechargeable batteries, they may leak or explode.

Symptom Solution
My laser sight doesn’t light, or is intermittent
  • If your laser sight has a lens cap (waterproof models), remove it and you will see four alignment screws.  Make sure these alignment screws are securely tightened.  These act as conductors to the laser module inside.
  • To confirm the laser module is not defective, use a metal object to short the battery to the housing.  If this lights up the laser, your switch may be defective.
Switch is not working
  • Be sure the switch is screwed on tightly.  Only AimSHOT switches will work on our laser sights.
(KT8103 Only) My quick release rail mount is too tight or too loose on the rail.
  • Follow instructions HERE to adjust the quick release rail mount.

 

HeatSeeker

Will I be able to find a mole underground, or an animal buried in a pile of leaves?
The HeatSeeker must have a direct line of sight with the animal/object you are looking for to be able to detect it.  There must also be a significant in temperature between the animal/object and the environment.  The HeatSeeker cannot detect through glass or other solid objects.

Will I be able to track a deer through tall grass?
The HeatSeeker should be able to track a deer through tall grass as long as it’s not too dense.  Even though you may not be able to see the deer, the HeatSeeker should be able to detect the deer’s heat in between the grass.

What kind of range can I expect from the HeatSeeker?
The HeatSeeker will have the best range under optimal conditions (cold day with no wind).  The smaller the object you’re looking for, the shorter the distance the HeatSeeker will be able to detect it at.  There must be a difference in temperature between the animal/object you’re looking for and the environment.  The HeatSeeker is not a magical device that will find whatever you are looking for.

Reflex Sights

Symptom Solution
I cannot get enough elevation or windage adjustment to sight in my weapon.
  • Be sure your reflex sight is mounted as close to the barrel as possible.
  • The optics may have been mis-aligned at the factory.  Call for replacement.
(HG-PRO Only) My quick release rail mount is too tight or too loose on the rail.
